History
The Metro LA Choir (known originally as The South Central Choir, “Voices of Melody”) was formed in 1992 in Inglewood, California as part of the South Central Region of the Los Angeles Church of Christ. The small volunteer group of about 10 amateur singers assembled at that time to encourage the then 150-member South Central Ministry.
Since then, the Metro LA choir has grown to a membership of about 30 voices within the Metro LA Ministry and has become a common part of the 5,000 member LA Church congregational services. They have had the opportunity to lift their voices countless times in front of the LA Church at the world famous Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles as well as performed in front of nearly 20,000 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena!
The choir has also performed in front of thousands in San Francisco, San Diego and Fresno, California as well as Phoenix, Arizona, and also enjoyed the unique privilege of performing on stage with Enrique Eglesias in front of 80,000 people!
Most recently, the Metro LA Choir sang the opening song to kick off the LA Church’s 20th Anniversary Service at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA.
